Our Mission: To provide Peers, Caregivers and Providers a guide to finding mental health and behavioral health resources. Our aspiration is to develop a strong mental health community where anyone who needs mental health services can easily find them and inspire self-advocacy.
This website was inspired by the #YavapaiStrongerTogether campaign which is a collaboration of mental health coalitions, groups, government agencies and anyone who cares about the people of Yavapai County, Arizona.
A mental health resource website has been the dream of many of us for years and a topic that we have discussed in many mental health advocacy groups. NAMI Yavapai created and maintains this site.
About NAMI Yavapai County
The members of NAMI Yavapai County are here to help! We offer understanding to anyone concerned about mental illnesses and the treatment of mental illness.
Mental illnesses are brain disorders that are biologically based medical problems. Untreated, they can cause severe disturbances in thinking, feeling and relating. This results in substantially diminished capacity for dealing with the ordinary demands of life. Mental illness can affect persons of any age and occur in any family. They are not caused by bad parenting and not evidence of weakness of character.
