Know Your Arizona Mental Health Rights!

Our aspiration is to develop a strong mental health community where anyone who needs mental health services can find them easily and also provide an honest review of the resources used.

You have rights in Arizona!  Whether you have a SMI (Seriously Mentally Ill) designation or not you have rights!

“The Arizona Center for Disability Law is a not for profit public interest law firm, dedicated to protecting the rights of individuals with a wide range of physical, mental, psychiatric, sensory and cognitive disabilities.” You will find their Mental Health Rights handouts on the left hand side of this page.

AHCCCS, Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System is Arizona’s Medicaid agency. They offer health care programs to serve Arizona residents. On their site you will find information on the full array of AHCCCS services.

“The Office of Individual and Family Affairs (OIFA) promotes recovery, resiliency, and wellness for individuals with mental health and substance use challenges.”  On the right hand side of this page you can find the handy one-page flyers that explain your Arizona Mental Health rights even if you are not on AHCCCS.

“The Office of Human Rights (OHR), is responsible for providing assistance to AHCCCS members living with Serious Mental Illness.” On the left hand side of this page you will find their explanations of your Rights as a person with a Serious Mental Illness.
